Coursera alternative? More than 6 million users can not be wrong. Coursera offers free courses in a large number of different subjects, from law to physics, from history to economics. It also has many courses in Spanish. Courses designed by distinguished professors from several universities in Pennsylvania, Michigan, which already has 33 partner universities, 121 courses and more than one million students. Your courses require you to spend several hours a week. And they depend to a great extent on the skill of the teacher in question. Personally I have started several, but I have never gotten any finished. Beware of overvaluing the time you are willing to devote to a certain subject. 10 hours a week can be a long time.
Coursera usually works by groups of students that you have to train. Some of the tasks have to be solved by the group. Let’s start off with edX because it’s linked with the most prestigious schools and universities which include but not limited to Harvard, MIT, Berkeley, Australian National University, and many more from all around the world.
Powered by MIT and Harvard University, it is being very well accepted in both institutions. The MITx platform is the foundation on which EdX is built.

Suffice it to say that it is founded by Harvard University and the famous MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), so that it catches our attention. It has courses from those institutions and from Berkley although they plan to include courses from other universities. Although the courses according to EdX are in line with those offered in the universities themselves, they do not offer credits from these universities, but a certificate when the course ends. I have never personally tried Edx because the courses they offered were very scientifically oriented, but that seems to be changing. “Was Alexander really Macedonian?” Is the first course I found on entering now, and not only does it sound nothing scientific but it seems very palatable. Ummm maybe it’s time to try EdX.
