You have several options when you want to enter data manually in Excel. You can enter data in one cell, in several cells at the same time, or on more than one worksheet at once. The data that you enter can be numbers, text, dates, or times. You can format the data in a variety of ways. And, there are several settings that you can adjust to make data entry easier for you.
Data in Worksheet can be entered in a worksheet by two ways, first is called manually, entered by the user and second one called automatically where data is imported other systems sources, like from access, sql, server or from web and appeared in the worksheet without pressing any key from the keyboard.
In automatic data entry, you can type any type of data like numeric, text, date or time in one cell, in many cells or on more than one worksheet at a time. We will data like enter same data on more than one worksheet at a time.
After discussing about many ways to enter data in a worksheet, let us proceed ahead and enter data manually. To do so, undertake the following steps:

- Open a blank excel search through your programs, although differs which version of windows you are using.
- A blank worksheet appears as shown in Fig.EX-2.1. (Fig.Ex-2.1).
- Now Click on cell A1 and type Branch wise salary 2007
- Now Click on cell A2 and type Emp Name as a column heading.
- And then Click on cell B2 and type Branch.
- Now Click on cell C2 and type Department.
- Click on cell D2 and type Leave.
- Click on cell E2 and type
- Click on cell F2 and type Salary Drawn on.
- Click on cell A3 and Enter value of Emp name.
- Click on cell B3 and Enter value of
- Click on cell C3 and Enter value of Department.
- Click on cell D3 and Enter value of
- Click on cell E3 and Enter value of
- Click on cell F3 and Enter value of Salary Drawn On.
Now values for complete row are entered. Similarly you can enter more values in other cells of worksheets.
