Two ways to restore or backup your iPhone or iPad data

Apple provides two ways to restore or backup your iOS device data. You can choose and decide which is the best for you. Each methods have some restrictions on it and are different from each other. Just look at it:

Using iCloud

Using iTunes

  • If you are using iCloud, it Stores backups on your Mac or PC
  • Storage depends on your Mac or PC’s available space.
  • It doesn’t Always encrypts your backups but you can turn on encrypt backups feature.
  • Lets you create backups and restore backups again on your iPhone or iPad from you Mac or PC only.
 

iCloud backups

iCloud backups include nearly all data and settings stored on your device. iCloud backups don’t include:

  • Photos which are already stored in your cloud account, like My Photo Stream, and iCloud Photo Library will not be included.

  • Information and settings data of Apple Pay will not be included

As far as i know, itunes is the faster, easier and secure way to restore and backup your iPhone 4, 4s, 5s, 6, 6 Plus, iPod touch, or iPad data. Some Iphone or iPad data that iTunes backup doesn’t include:

You will not be able to Transfer all of your stored data Data that won’t transfer from one kind of device to another

Restoring an iPhone backup on your iPad or iPod touch will result in to partial restoring of your data.For example using an iPad backup for an iPhone, certain types of data won’t transfer:

  • Photos will not be transferred.
  • Attachments in Messages will be restricted.
  • Voice Memos will not be restored.
  • Some apps are only compatible with iPad, so you will not be able to Restore or transfer those apps on other device.
