Apple iOS 9.3 activation issue: Company halts update roll-out for select iPhone, iPad series; provides steps to get Apple ID
Apple has officially stopped the Apple iOS 9.3 Update roll-out process for the iPhone 5S, iPad Air and their older models, after many users who got the updated version first complained about the trouble they were facing while activating the lock screen of their devices. Reported affected devices are iPhone 5S and older, iPad Air and older. Taking note of the issue, Apple has now promised to release new iOS 9.3 update with a software patch to fix the issue in the coming days.
AppleInsider was first to report on the iOS 9.3 issue earlier this week, noting certain device owners, specifically those with older generation hardware like the iPad 2, were unable to proceed past the password authentication stage after installing Apple’s new software. Those affected usually see authentication error messages in line with Apple’s statement.
