To install Windows 10 on a Mac, Install windows on macbook, How to install Windows 10 on a Mac, you will need the following:

  • The Mac you plan to install Windows 10 on
  • A flash drive with at least 5GB of storage space.
  • A second computer that already runs Windows.

This guide is for a Mac that doesn’t have already have Windows installed. If yours already has Windows 7 or Windows 8 on your Mac, you can upgrade it to Windows 10 the normal way.

  1. In the first step: Insert the flash drive into your Windows computer anddownload the Windows 10 media creation tool from Microsoft website.  Download Tool Now (32-bit version)Download Tool Now (64-bit version). There are 32-bit and 64-bit versions, depending on which Windows system you intend to use the tool on. If you’re not sure whether your computer is using 64-bit or 32-bit Windows, here’s how you can find out. Only the version compatible with your system will actually run. Pick the option to create an installation media. or follow the steps to find how to check
    • To find out which type of Windows you are running,
    • Go to > Start, then Go to > Control panel,
    • Now select or click on System and security, and then,
    • Go > to > System, Now check System type.
    • If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows 10, 64-bit Operating System is displayed in the System type field under the System heading.   2. STEP 2: Run the media creation tool, if you didn’t already select Run. (You need to be an Administrator on the PC to run it).
  3. STEP 3: Now select Create installation media for another PC. Use this table to choose the edition of Windows 10 that you want to create media for. NOTE: If you’re upgrading this PC, select Upgrade this PC now, and then follow the instructions to finish the upgrade.   4. Step 4: Select the LanguageEdition and the 64-bit Architecture for Windows 10, then click Next. It’s important that you select the 64-bit Architecture.
    • Now check out this chart to find out if Pro or Home fits you best.  Choose to save Windows 10 installer as an ISO.
  5. Step 5: Choose to save Windows 10 installer as an ISO file then click on Next. Don’t worry, you won’t need a DVD burner or a DVD at all.
    1. Note that you’ll want to avoid using the USB flash drive option here since, in my experience, the Windows 10 USB installer drive created using Windows has trouble working on certain Macs. Save Windows 10 ISO file.
  6. Step 6: Now Choose a location to save the Windows ISO file.
  7. You can save this file anywhere on the computer and then copy it onto the flash drive later.
  8. Now you have to wait for sometime. Depending on your Internet connection speed, the downloading will take some time, may be an hour.
  9. After the file is downloaded on to your windows computer. Copy it to your flash drive and paste it to your mac PC.
  10. You will not need the Windows computer again for the rest of the process.

Copy Windows 10 ISO file onto the Mac’s desktop

  1. STEP 1: Now after completing the windows 10 ISO file part.
  2. STEP 2: Insert and then copy Windows 10 file from the flash drive to Mac PC. Leave the flash drive connected to the Mac for the rest of job.
  3. STEP 3: Now Run Boot Camp Assistant. NOTE: Make sure there are no other flash drives or external hard drives connected to the Mac. .
  4. STEP 4: Now Run Boot Camp Assistant, then click or tap on Continue. Boot Camp Assistant is located in Applications\Utilities folder.
  5. STEP 5: Turn on all tasks Create a Windows 7 or later version install disk,Download the latest Windows support software from Apple and Install windows 7 or later version are checked.
  6. STEP 6: Then click Continue. Prepare to make Windows 10 install disk.
  7. STEP 7: If you’ve copied the Windows ISO file to the Mac’s desktop, it will be automatically located. If you put it elsewhere on the computer, you’ll need click on.
  8. STEP 8: Choose and browse for it. The flash drive will be automatically chosen as the install disk if it’s the only flash drive plugged in.
    1. Verify everything then click on Continue.  Make sure you choose the right partition size for Windows 10.
  9. STEP 9: Now Boot Camp Assistant will ask you to choose the size of the partition that you’ll use for Windows.
  10. STEP 10: Choose at least 20 GB to install, so you’ll want more than that to make room for software and data. Note that this is the only time you can pick the partition size for Windows.

Once done, without removing the flash drive, click on Install. The partitioning will takes place and then the Mac will restart. This is the end of part 2. Make sure the flash drive remained plugged in for the entire part 3.

Note: After step two make sure that USB disk drive is plugged in and do not remove it:

  1. The Mac will automatically boot up from the flash drive and start the Windows Setup process.
  2. Now choose the Language, Time and currency format, and Keyboard settings for Windows.
  3. Now press or click on Next.
  4. Note: If somehow the Mac doesn’t boot from the flash drive, just restart it, hold down the Option key after the Apple startup sound for available boot options, use the left/right keys to pick the flash drive — which will likely appears as “Windows” — and press Enter to boot from it.
  5. Enter the Windows 10 product key or skip it.
  6. Now if you have windows 10 product licence key, enter it; if you don’t have it just skip the step.
  7. Now confirm the Windows edition you want to install,
  8. And then agree to the terms and conditions.
  9. Now formatting and partition process will start for windows 10.
  10. Now setup will show you partition named BOOTCAMP. This is where you should install windows 10, don’t mess with other partitions.
  11. Just confirm the formatting of the BootCamp partition.
  12. Now tap on OK to Confirm.
  13. Now the process of installing windows 10 on your mac PC will begin now. It will take some time, probably about half an hour.
  14. You will be asked to create user and account and some other things, just follow the instructions.
  15. Installing Boot Camp software is the last step that makes Windows 10 run well on your Mac.
  16. As you log in for the first time, you will be greeted with this Boot Camp installation message.
  17. Click on Next and follow the rest of the installation,
  18. Now reboot the computer.
  19. Windows 10 is installed on your MAC PC now.

 

If you don’t see this message, open the flash drive, and double-click on the Setup file inside the BootCamp folder. Once Boot Camp is done installing, you can remove the flash drive from the computer. It’s no longer needed.


 NOTETo set which operating system to boot up as default, use the Boot Camp control panel (Windows) or Startup Disk in System Preferences (Mac).

STEP 4: Removing Windows 10 from MAC – Mac boot camp windows 10

  1. In the first step run  Mac OS,

  2. Then Go to > Boot Camp Assistant and click Continue.

  3. Now click on Remove Windows 7 or later version then click on Continue.

  4. Doing this will remove the entire Boot Camp partition.

  5. Now just click on Restore

  6. You may have to enter MAC admin password.

  7. Windows will be removed from your MAC OS.
