Let’s start than, I am using Windows 10, so, I will show you making a wireless internet home network using Command prompt (CMD) on windows 8 or windows 8.1.

First Step – Create wireless network windows 10

Press the Windows + R or if you are using windows 10 go to Cortana search and enter  ncpa.cpl.

Third Step –  Create Wireless Network without Router

When your network connections open right-click on your Wireless network adapter and select properties from the context menu.

Fourth Step – Create Wireless Network without Router

Now switch over to the Sharing tab and allow other devices to use your machines internet by selecting the first checkbox and then unchecking the second before clicking on the OK button.

STEP 5 – Set up wireless network

 

Now right-click in the bottom left of your screen, to launch an administrative command prompt.

STEP 6 – Command prompt wifi hotspot

The first thing we need to do is set up the wireless network, this is done using the netsh command like so:

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=”singh” key=”your network password”

So, the above command will create a wireless network without router but it is still offline. Where hotspot name or SSID is your connected ethernet or broadband network name and password should be your network password.

STEP 7: Hotspot windows 8 and Hotspot windows 10

  • After creating hotspot you will see these messages on command prompt, if you see these meassages then everything is working fine.
  • Hotspot network mode has been set to allow.
  • SSID of hosted network has been successfully changed.
  • User keyphrase has been changed.

STEP 8: Create wifi hotspot using cmd

Now while creating a Wi-Fi hotspot using CMD (command prompt) you have to start the newly created network by using the following command in command prompt:

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

If you want to stop the created WI-FI network you can stop this home wireless network in command prompt.

netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

If you want to see the status of wireless hotspot on your laptop or Desktop PC by using this command. The last command you will need to know is the show command, it will tell you things like the channel you are on as well as the number of clients connected to your network:
