Unable to connect to internet: The connection is limited I can’t connect to the internet on my PC, other devices in my house can not connect to internet. Configuration issues can be responsible for problems accessing the internet through the Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox web browser.
- Ensure your wired or wireless network hardware is switched on and plugged in.
- If you’ve recently installed or upgraded software firewalls on your computer, temporarily disable them to determine whether it may be the cause of Internet connection problems.
- When using a hotspot, follow the provider’s instructors for signing on carefully.
- Check the router’s lights and console if possible to ensure it is running and responding properly. Troubleshoot and reset the router if necessary.
- Contact your ISP if you suspect your account has been blocked.
- Resetting the network connection: Select the Start button, then select Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset. On the Network reset screen, select Reset now > Yes to confirm.
- To resolve an IP conflict: Resolving the issue could be as simple as just restarting the router. If every device in the network was assigned dynamic IP addresses, the issue should be fixed as the router reboots and re-assigns IP addresses to every device in the network. Another way to fix this issue (at least on Windows systems) is to release the IP address via the command prompt. Open up the command prompt (you can do this by going to your start menu and searching for ‘command prompt’) and type “ipconfig /release” in the window, then press enter. The DHCP server will then assign a new IP address to your computer.
